Norwegian skier explained for insulting Russian athletes

Norwegian skier Hans Christer Holund said in his Instagram that his comment after the race “Tour de Ski” in Italian Val di Fiemme was distorted. He also apologized to the Russian team for the insult.

“I apologize to the Russian team for the inappropriate comment in the media after the race. It was distorted. You are good and make the race exciting,” wrote the athlete.

Holon previously commented on the tactics of the Russian skiers during the mass start at sixth stage of the “Tour de Ski”. He said that the athletes in the team are stupid like a cork.

The best of the Russians was Alexander Bolshunov, who took third place (+2.6 seconds). Andrey Larkov was fourth (+3.4 seconds), Maxim Vylegzhanin — the fifth (+4,6), Andrew Abakarov — sixth (+6,3), Denis Spicav — eighth (+27,1), Andrey Melnichenko — 11-m (+31,6).
