American cyclist Carl grove, who is 90 years old, stripped of world record because of a positive doping test. About it reports The Telegraph.
According to the publication, the test rider found the banned anabolic steroid epitropoulos. Grove said that the doping was in his system through the meat that he ate on the eve of the race. He noted that a sample taken two days before the competition was clean.
However, anti-Doping Agency of the USA (USADA) has rejected the arguments of the 90-year-old athlete. During the investigation of the organization, it was found that the grove in July of 2018 also used supplements containing the banned drug clomiphene.
Grove set a world record in the sprint in the category of 90-94 year at the USA championship. Now the athlete is disqualified and his results annulled.
