Naval forces of Russia and Iran began preparing for joint exercises in the Caspian sea, said Iranian Navy commander rear Admiral Hossein Hanzade. On Sunday, January 6, reports the news Agency Mehr.
According to Hanzade, the maneuvers are tactical, rescue and anti-piracy. They will lead strategic and tactical cooperation between the two countries at sea on a very high level. Hanzade noted that cooperation between Russian and Iranian Navy in recent years has been strengthened.
In September in the Russian far East and adjacent waters of the Pacific ocean passed the military exercises “Vostok-2018”, which became the largest in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
