Frosts in the Volga region got to that record

The air temperature in the regions of the Volga region dropped to minus 28 degrees, almost reaching a record to mark this time of year — minus 33 degrees. On Tuesday, January 8, according to “Izvestia”.

In the village of Bolshaya Glushitsa, Samara region night had dropped to minus 27.5 degrees. In Chelno-vershiny — to minus 26 in Togliatti — up to minus 24, and in Samara — to minus 23. The average January temperature is minus 10 degrees.

Frosts hit and the Saratov region. In Pugachev, the thermometer dropped to minus 28 degrees in Sochi and Petrovka — up to minus 27 in the capital region the air is cooled down to minus 17 degrees.

A similar situation is observed in Ulyanovsk, Penza, Orenburg and Ufa, there is not much warmer — from minus 20 to minus 25.

Previously, forecasters warned the Russians about the abnormal cold, which affected mostly the Volga and Central Federal districts.
