In 2018 in the United States dramatically increased emissions of environmentally harmful greenhouse gases. It is reported RIA Novosti with reference to the report of the NGO Rhodium Group.

According to analysts, the emissions in the United States increased by 3.4 percent, while in the period from 2015 to 2017 on the contrary, they decreased from 0.8 percent to 2.7 percent per year. The higher growth of emissions over the last 20 years was observed only in 2010 — 3.6 percent.

The reason for the dramatic increase in the volume of greenhouse gases produced by the experts referred to energy, transport, construction and industrial sector. In particular, increased emissions of gas-fired power plants because of rising electricity demand.

In August 2017 the United States came out of the Paris climate agreement. It was concluded in 2015 and allocated $ 100 billion to developing countries for climate solutions.

On this date, the United States ranked second in the world in harmful emissions after China.
