Experts from the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) on Wednesday, January 9, arrived in Moscow. They need to access the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory, reports TASS with reference to the representative of the Agency.
The group will start work on 10 January. According to the speaker, the experts will stay in Russia for two or three days. Earlier, on 9 December, the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian side, and WADA had found understanding on the issue of transfer of data on inspections of doping tests.
The Agency representatives had to access the Moscow laboratory until 31 December, but was unable to do this due to issues with certification of the equipment. According to the head of WADA Craig reedy, after receiving information about the doping test of the Russians can be open to new things.
Because of delays in providing access to the Moscow lab many athletes and organizations called on WADA to withdraw the status of compliance with the code of the Russian anti-doping Agency, but the international body has not yet punished the journalist. The question of the status of the Agency will be considered on 14 and 15 January.
Concern over the situation in December was expressed by the head of RUSADA Yuri Hanus. He appealed to the President with a request to influence the situation with the admission of members of the WADA for doping tests, and also asked to avoid isolation of the Russian sports. In response to the Kremlin pointed to the groundlessness of many fears Hanusa.
