Moscow skier killed under an avalanche, banned for riding the slopes of mount Elbrus, reports “Interfax” citing a source.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, January 9. The man’s body without signs of life found under the station “Mir” at the height of 3.5 thousand meters. Informed about the disappearance of the skier from Moscow said the wife. According to the interlocutor of the Agency, a man born in 1981, living in Moscow, was riding in a prohibited area of the slope below the station “Mir” on Elbrus. It is assumed that he triggered the avalanche that killed.

Rescuers began transporting bodies of the deceased for onward transmission of the interdepartmental investigatory-operative group.

In August 2017, a tourist from Moscow has died while climbing on mount Elbrus. Climber in 1962 felt unwell and contacted the MOE. About three hours later, emergency workers found a man at the height of 4.1 thousand meters, but he was already dead.
