The Moscow district court of St. Petersburg was found guilty of fraud a former police officer Andrey Pavlov. This was reported by “Fontanka” with reference to the press service of the Petersburg courts.
As it became known, from 2010 to 2015 Pavlov, being a major of the police, he offered his protection to the owner of the brothels on Moskovsky prospect. For 70 thousand rubles a month, he promised her institutions protection from police raids.
The fact that the man actually had no authority to do so, became known only after verification of the establishments by the police. In just five years the woman gave Pavlov 4.9 million rubles.
A former policeman fully admitted his guilt and apologized to the defrauded owner of the brothels and gave her back all the money. He was sentenced to three years of imprisonment with serving in a colony.
In November it became known that St. Petersburg has examined 60 public houses in various parts of the city and gave information about them to the Deputy of the state Duma Mikhail Romanov. Based on these data, the police was 168 protocols on administrative violations under article “prostitution”, and instituted several criminal cases.
