A Russian artist-actionist Peter Pavlensky declared that dedicates his trial the French writer Marquis de Sade. On Thursday, January 10, RIA Novosti reported.
“The Marquis de Sade showed the true nature of power,” said the artist at the court hearing in Paris. In France Pavlensky is accused of arson of the building of the Bank of France.
Pavlensky added that the Marquis de Sade “was severely hounded by the French.” He recalled that the writer ended his days in a madhouse.
It is noted that the actionist made a statement in Russian, then asked a certified translator to translate his words into French, but he refused. The judge called the performance, Pavlensky “an interesting performance”.
After the statement of the artist, the session was suspended.
Pavlensky was detained in Paris after he set fire to the entrance of the building of the Paris branch of the Bank in October 2017. Actionist explained their actions by the desire to start a world revolution.
Actionist left Russia together with his civil wife Oksana Shalygina and children in January 2017. Emigration, the artist explained that he is suspected of committing violent acts of a sexual nature.
