In Russia may receive a new regional airline, says family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”. Its main shareholders will be Sberbank and VTB.
Two of the country’s largest Bank engaged in the creation of a regional carrier on behalf of President Vladimir Putin and the government. It is expected that it will appear on the base of Utair, on the verge of bankruptcy from-for debts under credits of the savings Bank.
By far the most preferred and most likely option is to bail in. Usually it applies to banks and is that claims of creditors are converted into shares.
The banks themselves, according to the newspaper, would not want to buy shares in Utair, focusing instead on other forms of cooperation, e.g. the lending or leasing of aircraft.
Currently the main shareholder of Utair (50.1%) is the company “AK-invest”, owned by a non-state pension Fund “Surgutneftegas”. Another 38.8 per cent owned by the government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous district, 8.4 percent of the Tyumen region.
In last may the President’s decree speaks of the need to increase the share of regional traffic (bypassing Moscow) by 2024 and 50 percent.
