The Minister of sports of Russia Pavel Kolobkov said that was the cause of the problems between the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA). His words leads TASS.
Kolobkov said that the delay in transmission of the database of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory is not caused by the Russian side. “It was a normal working process, we agreed on the technical details. Was a purely organizational problem, now it solved,” he added.
According to the Minister, the Russian side has done everything to ensure that these data were provided to the New year. “With representatives of WADA we have a very close contact, all understood that this is a complex process that must comply with the Criminal procedure code of the Russian Federation, should be preserved the evidence,” the official said.
RUSADA was reinstated in September 2018, provided that until December 31, the experts of WADA will have access to the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.
The Russian side did not provide the experts of WADA access to the data before the deadline because of problems with certification of the equipment. This resulted in calls to re-impose sanctions on RUSADA. However, WADA has not yet taken action. The question of the status of the Agency will be examined again on January 14-15.
