Ankara may think about purchasing an American anti-aircraft missile complexes Patriot, but this is impossible, if Washington continues to put forward its own conditions. This was stated by Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, reports Reuters.
According to him, Turkey does not accept the nomination of the United States any requirements regarding the transaction on purchase of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems C-400.
On 5 January it was reported that representatives of the American delegation put forward a condition of the Ministry and foreign Ministry of Turkey to cancel the order with C-400 in exchange for the supply of Patriot. The American proposal does not include any discount, neither the transfer of technology.
Moscow and Ankara have signed an agreement to supply Turkey systems s-400 in September 2017. The contract provides for the sale of four divisions, equipped with these systems. The cost of the agreement is $ 2.5 billion, more than half of the amount will cover the Russian loan. Turkey has repeatedly pointed out that the decision to purchase complexes is not subject to cancellation.
The United States and other NATO members oppose the purchase by Ankara of the Russian SAM. The decision caused dissatisfaction with Washington, as Turkey is a member of the Alliance, in which all weapons systems have to work under a single standard. Washington Ankara threatens sanctions.
