Ukraine has avoided a national catastrophe

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko boasted economic success, noting that the country could avoid default. About this he wrote on his page in Facebook.

“Four years ago, Ukraine was a step away from default and national disaster. And the aggression of Russia, the illegal annexation of Crimea and occupation of part of Donbass destroyed about a quarter of the industrial potential of our country”, — said the President of Ukraine.

Poroshenko sure that the authorities managed to ensure macro-financial stability in Ukraine and bring the country out of the risk area. “I absolutely clearly understand that we are faced with so many challenges that lie ahead. But the most difficult thing we have certainly overcome. Move forward!” — wrote the President.

However, Ukraine is still considered one of the most vulnerable economies in the world. According to the rating research company IHS, Markit, Ukraine ranked eighth, and its neighbors in the ranking were Ethiopia, Sudan and Yemen. The weakness of the Ukrainian economy due to adverse external conditions, chronic budget deficits, and political instability.
