Eight-time Olympic biathlon champion OLE Einar Bjoerndalen gave his opinion about restoration of the Russian anti-doping Agency (RUSADA). His words led TV2.

“The world anti-doping Agency (WADA) had many opportunities to go to Russia to check RUSADA, but they were rejected. Now Agency officials returned to Moscow, but since the Games in Sochi has been quite some time. If you want my opinion, I’m against such a policy. And I believe that WADA should behave more rigidly and strictly for punishment for Russian sport,” said Bjoerndalen.

RUSADA was reinstated in September 2018, provided that until December 31, the experts of WADA will have access to the Moscow anti-doping laboratory. Nevertheless, the Russian side failed to fulfill this requirement on time. This has led to calls to re-impose sanctions on RUSADA. The question of the status of the Agency will consider on January 14-15.
