The Ukrainian state company “UkrSpetsExport” and the Turkish company Baykar Makina signed the agreement on purchase Turkish percussion unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Bayraktar TB2 for the needs of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU). On Saturday, January 12, in his Facebook said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
The Ukrainian leader pointed out that the agreement was signed following the negotiations with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The contract is part of measures to expand military-technical cooperation between Kiev and Ankara.
Poroshenko also said that Turkish drones can be equipped with high-precision missiles to destroy armored vehicles, engineering and fortifications and sea targets.
Anadolu Agency indicates that during the year Ukraine will be delivered six drones. Concluded between Baykar Makina and “Ukrspetseksport” the agreement provides for the supply of components, maintenance and training of personnel.
Technical characteristics of UAVs are listed on the website Baykar Makina. The length of the aircraft is 6.5 meters, wingspan — 12 meters, the radius of 150 kilometers, a cruising speed of 130 kilometres per hour.
