Belarus and the United States are discussing the possibility of expanding the diplomatic presence, including the return of ambassadors. On Monday, January 14, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic Vladimir Makei, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the Minister, the parties are negotiating “across the spectrum of problematic issues,” including “associated with the prospect of expanding diplomatic presence in both countries”.
“We are negotiating how to develop our cooperation, on the understanding that both parties should be represented at the ambassadorial level,” said Mackay.

In recent months, Minsk and Moscow exchanged harsh statements. Russia has decided to tax maneuver in the oil industry, after which fuel will be delivered to Belarus at world prices. The President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko has stated that if the parties do not reach agreement on compensation, then Russia will lose its only ally in the Western direction. The Russian foreign Ministry replied that no doubt the policy of expanding strategic cooperation with Minsk.
In late December, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov declared that Belarus has lost the confidence of Moscow that do not intend to gratuitously help a neighbor.
