In Russia want to enter the car room green color — these signs will have electric vehicles to highlight their environmental friendliness. This was stated by the adviser of one of the leaders of the working group of the national technology initiative (NTI) “Avtonet” Roman Malkin, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the plan “AutoNet”, it must be the beginning to increase the popularity of environmentally friendly transport in Russia. The initiative will be sent to the transport Ministry and the interior Ministry for approval and further approval in the government.
The idea of a green room came during discussions of proposals to improve legislation and eliminate administrative barriers to “green” transport.
According to Malkin, at the moment, the public organization is lobbying for the introduction of additional measures to promote electric vehicles, the introduction of certain exemptions and benefits. “The introduction of state green license plate — the first step in this work,” he said.
At the moment electric cars are not very popular among Russians, Malkin is sure that the main reason is the lack of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles.
At the moment credit for electric vehicles is provided in Moscow: their owners are free to use the city Parking lots. In the Moscow region their drivers are exempt from paying vehicle tax. According to the Paris climate agreement 2015, signed by Russia, the countries undertake to gradually switch to electric vehicles. On 1 July 2018 in Russia, there were about 2.5 thousand cars.
