Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the proposal of Vladimir Putin to return to Ukraine its military equipment remaining in Crimea. The words of the representative of the Kremlin’s leading family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti” on Friday, January 12.

“This is another gesture of goodwill, the political motivation to still get the process of Ukrainian settlement from the dead point”, — said Peskov.

He noted that the preparation of the return of military equipment from the Crimea will require contacts with Kiev.

January 11, Putin said that Russia is ready to return to Ukraine the military equipment that remained on the Peninsula after the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops in the region. We are talking about ships, aircraft and armored vehicles. According to the Russian leader, combat vehicles are “in poor condition”.

Commander of the naval forces of Ukraine Igor Voronchenko disagreed with this assessment. He said that on the Peninsula there were eight warships, one of them needed repair of the main engines, two BMP battalions and “they were all almost ready” to work.
