The President of Poland Andrzej Duda during the reception of foreign ambassadors said that the EU institutions deaf to the needs of member countries, pointing to Brexit and the recent elections in some countries. It is reported by EuroNews on January 12, Friday.
The head of state delivered a speech to foreign ambassadors at the new year reception at the presidential Palace in Warsaw. Duda said that the EU is partly to blame what he called the “public disappointment”.
“The European institutions must take some responsibility for what society is disappointed in the integration, and needs to analyze their mistakes. The task of the EU institutions — to build a harmonious European policy, not divide and set against each other European nation,” the President said.
In recent years between Poland and the EU appeared contradictions. So, on January 9 the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker met with Polish Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to discuss how to prevent the imposition of sanctions against the state.
