The European court of human rights with a complaint of discrimination in Russia turned 36 Roma living in Tatarstan. About it “lente.ru” reported in the human rights organization “Area law” Friday, January 12.
The claims of the plaintiffs are associated with the administration of the village of Aisha Zelenodolsky district, who achieved the demolition of their homes. In particular, they accused the authorities of violating article 8 (right to respect for private and family life) and 14 (prohibition of discrimination) of the international Convention on the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
In the fall of 2017, most of the Roma were forced to leave the village in which the camp purchased land in the early 2000-ies. Earlier, the court satisfied the claim Ashinskogo rural settlement on the demolition of the houses built by the Roma without permits, and compliance with sanitary and fire regulations.
These dwellings, as noted in the “Area law”, was dismantled by their owners on their own, then bailiffs, accompanied by the Riot police loaded the materials into the car and drove away in an unknown direction. For this Chapter of the community of jános Kaldaras collected 287 thousand rubles.
Also claims Roma are words in the address delivered by the head of the district Alexander by Tyynyn: “… in the minds of people there is the image of women in long skirts that are surrounded by large numbers of small children who are begging…”, “If you show me at least one Gypsy, which earned money, it will be nice. The Museum will supply. The only city in history”.
According to human rights activists, in the local school for people from Roma families, there was a separate class “C”, created on the initiative of the parents of the other students. The regional Prosecutor’s office, however, has made its elimination.
A similar situation forced demolitions of unauthorized constructions in the Gypsy camp in July 2017 appeared in Tula. The actions of the authorities stopping the illegal connection to the gas supply, caused mass protests of the Roma village Plekhanovo included in the city limits.
