The national team of Russia on football planned to be doping during the home world Cup 2018. Reported by the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, the Russian side was going to replace the urine samples of footballers to have the opportunity to use illegal drugs.
The international football Federation (FIFA) plans to conduct an investigation and may disqualify multiple players, or fully suspend the Russian team from the world Cup, the newspaper said. The members of the organization are also going to take the issue to the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory and the informant of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) Gregory Rodchenkov.
In November 2017 Rodchenkov promised to prove the existence of a system of doping in Russian football. According to him, representatives of FIFA can turn to him at any time, but until they are “happy to bury its head in the sand.”
In the same month it was reported that FIFA had contacted the informant WADA with the aim to obtain proof of doping the Russian players. It is about 34 players, 23 of which were included in the proposal team Russia at the 2014 world Cup.
The 2018 world Cup will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
