Ukrainian General was afraid of the return of the equipment from the Crimea

Ukrainian General reserve, military expert Ihor Romanenko said that in the case of a return of military equipment from the Crimea it is necessary to send experts to survey equipment for explosives. He told about it in interview to the edition “Apostrophe”.

“Assuming that we accept the equipment, they can lay a ship hidden explosive devices, as did the Germans and Italians after the Second world war. They brewed the bomb in the building, and at the right time blew up,” he said, remembering the explosion on the battleship “Novorossiysk” in 1955 in Sevastopol. Then, according to one version, during the transfer of the ship, the Commission found a blank bulkhead in the bow of the ship, which was a powerful explosive charge.

“Professional group needs to thoroughly examine the condition of equipment — to take it or not”, — concluded the General.

Romanenko is known for scandalous expert review. The December 30, he stated that he considers the Crimean bridge vulnerable to aircraft, missiles, land and sea-based object. On 28 October he suggested that Russia fulfills “the operation to seize important state objects” with the help of submarines black sea fleet.

Putin on January 11 offered to return the Ukrainian military equipment left over on the Peninsula. Then he noted that the vehicles are “in poor condition”. In response, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that Moscow, along with military equipment can be returned and the Crimea.

The Peninsula became part of Russia after the March 2014 referendum in which the majority of voters the people of the region supported this decision. Kiev, the EU and the USA refused to recognize results of plebiscite. In Moscow insist that the accession of the region conform to the norms of international law.
