According to Christian Knoop, the future of watchmaking over traditional models. “Smart watches are still just digital gadgets that are not collecting it, he said. — Consumers buy gadgets every year, changing to the new model, they do not come to mind smartphones to collect or transmit them by inheritance. Same with the smart watch, that’s just a useful device, which might last some time or will give way to other similar devices. And mechanical watches retain their value for decades.”
The specialist also noted that next year his company will be releasing more models in cases made of steel: it allows the interest time for young consumers and collectors.
Earlier it was reported that, IWC Schaffhausen during the salon International Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva will present a collection of 27 new models in the lines the Portuguese, Portofino, Pilot’s Watches and the Da Vinci. A remarkable novelty — a Tribute to IWC Pallweber Edition “150 Years” with only second hand, equipped with IWC 94200. The model is inspired by the historical pocket watch 1884 with the so-called “Bouncing” the digital pointer.
