Russia will continue to counteract the attempts of some countries to falsify history, to whitewash the Nazis and to smear liberators. On Thursday, February 1, Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, reports “Interfax”.
According to the head of the foreign Ministry, in some States immunity from the Nazi virus has been significantly weakened. “Deep concern is the situation in Ukraine, where shrugged the neo-radicals. In a number of European countries launched a campaign against the monuments to the soldiers who died for peace and freedom on our continent,” — said Lavrov, speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the battle of Stalingrad.
The Minister added that Russia will continue to “firmly oppose this flawed line”, and stressed that the battle of Stalingrad, which initiated a radical turn in the great Patriotic war and in General of the Second world war, is “among the key events of world pillars”. “The main conclusion of the events of those years should be the awareness of the need to do everything to avoid a repeat of such tragedies”, — concluded the foreign Minister.
