Polish officials were not allowed into Israel because of the law about the Holocaust

The Israeli authorities have cancelled visit to the country the head of the Polish national security Bureau of Pavlo Solokha after Poland adopted the law on the Holocaust. It is reported by The Times Of Israel, citing a statement by the Israeli foreign Ministry.

The official was supposed to fly to Israel for a three-day working visit from 4 to 7 February. In particular, it was planned that he will visit the Israeli national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust Poison VA-Shem.

For a time postponed the visit, the foreign Ministry said. While the Polish authorities are hoping that “dialogue on security issues of strategic importance for both countries, will continue in the near future.”

On 26 January the upper house of the Polish Parliament approved the law about the Holocaust. According to the document, stating that the poles or Poland “responsible for Nazi crimes committed by the Third Reich, or involved in the genocide of Jews in world war II”, shall be punished by imprisonment for three years.

The bill now awaits to be signed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda. In Israel, this initiative called Holocaust denial.
