The court of Switzerland rejected the claim of the six Russian athletes to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for refusal to issue invitations to the Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang. It is reported by Inside the Games.
According to the publication, a collective lawsuit was filed by the skaters Denis yuskov and Pavel Kulizhnikov and jumping on skis from a springboard Dmitry Vasilyev, biathletes Irina Starykh and Alexander Loginov short-Tracinda Tatiana Borodulina. “Yes, I can confirm that it [the rejection of claims] so,” — said the representative of the IOC.
Athletes have challenged in court the eligibility criteria for the Olympics, put forward by the IOC — no doping history during his career. Russian athletes had previously been convicted of violating anti-doping rules, but has already served the suspension.
The IOC Executive Board in December 2017, was suspended from the national team of Russia to participate in the Olympics 2018. However, the Committee left room for “clean” athletes to perform at the Games under the Olympic flag.
The Olympic games will be held in Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.
