German car company Porsche plans to double investment in the development of electric drive systems for plug-in hybrid and fully electric cars. About the decision taken at the last meeting of the Supervisory Board of the company “the Tape.ru” has informed a press-service of the company.
By 2022 those costs will be more than 6 billion euros. About 500 million of this sum will go on development model options and modifications electroporator Mission E. About one billion euros will be spent on the electrification and hybridization of the existing range.
Representatives of the company underlined the success of plug-in hybrids on the European market. So, 60 percent of all copies sold of the new version of the Panamera equipped with such propulsion; on the Scandinavian market, this share amounted to 90 percent of all orders.
Sports car Mission E will be equipped with all-electric drive with a capacity of 600 horsepower. The prototype accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in less than 3.5 seconds. The reserve according to the manufacturer is 500 kilometres in the NEDC cycle. 80% charging the battery takes about 15 minutes.
