The us industrial index Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday, February 5, fell to 1 of 175 points (4.6 percent) at the end of the trading session on the new York stock exchange. This is a record daily decline in history, says the Independent.

By the end of the session, the index was 24 346 points.

As follows from the data exchange, the S&P 500 index also lost 4%, that is 113 points. At the end of the session, it remained at around 2 649 points.

The publication notes that the collapse occurred on the background of statements by the White house about the success of the American economy. The administration of U.S. President Donald trump, in particular, issued a press release that trading on the new York stock exchange, more than 70 times closed at a record level since the beginning of his inauguration as head of state.
