Operating on the territory of Syria, terrorist groups have quarreled over the issue of the body of the Russian pilot Roman Filipov. It is reported by Telegram-channel, which monitors the activities of extremist organizations.
Group “Hayat Tahrir al-sham”, formerly named “Jabhat EN-Nusra” and banned in Russia, through its news Agency “IBA”, said that the bandits of the group “Faylaq al-sham” stole the body of pilot and handed over to the Turkish military. Under the statement of terrorists, they wanted to get rid of the murdered prisoners associates.
The terrorists called competitors “agents of Turkey and traitors” and vowed to appeal to the Syariah court.
Earlier, on 6 February, the body of the pilot of Roman Filipov, who was killed in the Syrian province of Idlib were returned to Russia by common efforts of Moscow and Ankara. The operation involved Russian military intelligence officers and their Turkish counterparts.
By the decree of President Vladimir Putin Filipovo awarded the title of Hero of Russia posthumously. The officer will be buried 8 February in Voronezh, with military honors.
Filipov was killed February 3 in Idlib after his su-25 was shot down by rebels using a portable anti-aircraft missile system. The pilot ejected and landed, and then took the fight. For some time he was fired from staff weapons, and eventually blew himself up with a grenade to avoid capture.
