World Vice-champion in the national team of France William Gallas recalled the joint statements with Russian football player Andrey Arshavin. His words bring “news”.
“When Arshavin came to Arsenal, no one in Europe knew, and at first it was difficult to adapt. But he had so many wonderful qualities and skill that he almost immediately said about himself. I still remember the Arsenal game against Liverpool at Anfield when he scored a poker. It was just incredible. To train with Arshavin — it was something. In fact, he never wanted to train, but when out on the field, played just great,” he said.
Gallas along with Arshavin played for Arsenal between 2009 and 2010, while the Frenchman moved to another London club Tottenham Hotspur. There he played together with the Russian forward Roman Pavlyuchenko. “He was very funny. In Tottenham we did a lot of fooling around. Roman was a great teammate and I am glad that we were able to play together,” said Gallas.
At the moment Arshavin is in favour of Kazakhstan “Kairat”. At different stages of his career, he defended the colors of St. Petersburg “Zenit”, London “Arsenal” and Krasnodar “Kuban”. He has 74 matches and scoring 17 goals in the Russian team.
