11-year-old new Yorker Anthony Perez (Anthony Perez) died saving 12-year-old friend ( Juan Juan Umpierrez) from the ice of the pond. About it reports The Daily Mail.

The incident occurred in forest Park in the area of Myrtle Avenue. The boys played at the pond after school when one of them accidentally fell into the water. Perez rushed to the aid of a friend, managed to save him, but fell into the pond himself.

Arrived at the scene rescuers tried to rescue a child from icy captivity, but, delivering it to shore, they found that the boy was no longer breathing. He was sent to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The newspaper also said that two rescuers were hospitalized because of hypothermia. The rescued boy has expressed condolences over the loss of a friend.

Later, the fire Department of new York issued a memo to parents in which he warned of the dangers of playing near lakes and ponds in the winter.
