Killer Anwar Masalimov, was sentenced to life imprisonment in a colony “the polar Owl” — one of the most severe in Russia — was released and, presumably, is in Moscow. On Wednesday, February 7, according to “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
According to the representative of the Vologda regional court Larissa Novolodskoy in 1991 in the village of Komsomolsk in Tomsk region Masalimov, at that time already served 15 years for murder in the state of alcoholic intoxication, strangled his sheltered by the pensioner for the fact that he, in the words of the killer, burned in the stove of his photographs. Muslimov dismembered the body and burned it in the stove.

Novolodskaya said that during the punishment the killer wrote numerous complaints to the verdict, from which the result did not recognition Masalimova especially dangerous recidivist, as well as the conclusion that the murder was committed under the influence of alcohol, but the sentence remained the same.
Finally, the Presidium of the Vologda regional court recognized that to mitigate punishment possible — and the killer was released, “with the phrase “in connection with the adoption of the law on improving the situation of the convicted person””. According to the newspaper, Masalimov became the first person in Russia who was sentenced to life imprisonment and was released.
At the moment it is not known exactly where the former prisoner. According to the certificate issued to him in the colony, Masalimov left for Moscow — in the Church of St. Dmitri of Rostov, because he wanted to become a monk, but later changed his mind. According to the priest, the man was going to go to a shelter for the homeless in the Lublin district, but there did not appear.
