Scientists from Turkish University “Medipol” came to the conclusion that antiplatelet therapy with aspirin may become a new treatment option in vasculogenic erectile dysfunction. This was reported in the medical journal Renal and Urology News.
In a prospective randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study, researchers divided test subjects with the highest average volume of platelets and suffering from impotence, into two groups. After six weeks in the group that were given daily aspirin, men have noted an obvious improvement of erection.
Acetylsalicylic acid reduces the average volume of the platelets producing thromboxane. Those, in turn, cease to act as a vasoconstrictor agent that, according to the findings of scientists, a cure for one of the causes of impotence.
