The Bank of Russia intends to test employees on the ability to keep a secret, as well as for involvement in corruption with a lie detector. It is reported by family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti” citing sources close to the regulator.
The polygraph will send the supervisors of commercial banks and the authorized representatives of the Central Bank, which work with banks and financial institutions. Checking will not affect the management of the regulator Elvira Nabiullina and her Deputy, including heads of departments.
Also, the lie detector will use when hiring new employees, for example in the procurement unit of the regulator.
The Bank of Russia confirmed the use of polygraphs to test employees. Some of them, according to “Vedomosti”, has already passed the polygraph. The curators of the banks, as the newspaper writes, are afraid of possible issues — for example, on the components of corruption or information leakage.
“Vedomosti” remind that the practice of using polygraph comes from the Soviet era, the polygraph is used in many security agencies. The Central Bank of a polygraph examination will be of a “voluntary-compulsory” character — anyone can refuse, but it will affect subsequent work.
