The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, signed a resolution “on measures On development of tourism”, providing for the removal of restrictions for tourists on photo – and video filming in the country. About it reports news Agency “Fergana”.
Earlier, the tourists taking pictures of buildings and public spaces, are often faced with the opposition of the police. Representatives of law enforcement agencies were forced tourists to delete photos and videos from devices, and in some cases detained immigrants for questioning.
As stated in paragraph 9 of the resolution, “photo – and videography by tourists public places, buildings and structures, except objects which list shall be approved by the legislation and which have the appropriate signs prohibiting all types of shooting, is carried out without any restrictions.” The list of forbidden subjects is not yet released. Earlier, the police relied on the secrecy of such a list.
In 2017, the Ministry of internal Affairs of Uzbekistan at the request of media representatives on the admissibility of the photos and video gave the following explanations: “To conduct photo and video filming for personal reasons for family viewing, there are no limitations. But for photos and video with the purpose of exhibiting the film to the public, it is recommended to obtain permission from the relevant competent authorities and khokimiyats (local authorities)”.
