At the direction of the President of the United States Donald trump, the Pentagon has begun planning a major military parade in Washington. It is reported by The Washington Post, citing sources in the defense Ministry and the White house. It is possible that the parade will be held in 2018 on the occasion of independence Day.

As noted by the sources, during the meeting on 18 January, the trump has hinted that he “would like to see in Washington large military parade”, similar to the one that annually arrange on the Champs Elysees on July 14 in honor of the National day of the French Republic. The American leader attended the event as one of the guests of honor.

According to the newspaper, the White house has told reporters that after last year’s summer trip to Paris he had the idea to hold a military parade in the American capital.

So, at a meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly he stated that he would like to spend “to demonstrate the military power of the United States July 4, on Pennsylvania Avenue.”

As the Associated Press, the celebration of independence Day traditionally include a rather modest parade with participation of military units, concert at the Capitol building, and evening fireworks.
