The steam-ship “Igor Farkhutdinov”, running between Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, stuck in the ice on the way to the port city of Korsakov. This was reported by TASS with reference to the duty captain-coordinator of the Maritime rescue sub-centre in Yuzhno – Sakhalinsk.
The ship, on Board of which 127 passengers and 42 of the container, out of Malokurilskoe (Shikotan) 5 Feb. At the moment, of distress messages and requests of the crew for help couldn’t arrive. The density of ice fields, according to experts, reaches a maximum value of 10 points. The ice thickness reaches up to five feet.
It is expected that the ship will arrive at the destination on the morning of Friday. On the website of the government of the Sakhalin region stated that “Igor Farkhutdinov” ship ice class, he is able to get out of the icy trap.
