The Japanese became the first eight-time participant of the Olympic games

Japanese jumping on the ski jumping Noriaki Kasai became the first athlete who took part in eight Olympic games. In qualifying for the tournament in the middle jump on the competition in Pyeongchang, he showed 20-th result and are through to the final, according to the website of the competition.

Kasai was first performed at the Olympic games in Albertville in 1992 and since then has participated in the winter Games. During this time the athlete three times on the podium — to his credit the silver medal of the Olympics in 1994, as well as silver and bronze at the Olympics 2014 in Sochi.

45-year-old Kasai took part in 13 world Championships and won seven medals (two silver and five bronze). He is the champion among all the ski jumper. The Japanese started his professional career in 1988.

The Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday, February 9, and will start at 14:00 GMT.
