“CAS was pressured. Bach declared that in case following a positive decision on the Russians he’ll just dismiss CAS. I think that kind of pressure he influenced the judges ‘ decision,” — said Demchenko.

In November 2017, the Russian athletes found guilty of violating anti-doping rules at the Olympic games in Sochi, was disqualified for life, and their results annulled. The IOC decision was based on the testimony of the former head of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory of Gregory Rodchenkov that in 2016 informant became the world anti-doping Agency (WADA).

Later, the CAS overturned the suspension for life from participation in Competitions for 27 Russian athletes. The results from the Olympics in Sochi has been restored. Prohibition of admission began to spread only to the Games in Pyeongchang.

XXXIII winter Olympic games started on February 9. The competition will last until February 25.
