Moscow believes that Washington wants to create obstacles for Russian-Afghan military-technical cooperation. This was announced by the presidential special representative on Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov, in his words leads to “Interfax-AVN”.

Kabulov also said that the Pentagon had named the wrong price of Russian helicopters during the discussion of the development plan, the Afghan air force until 2023. “Recently it became known that during the discussion in the Senate referred to the program the US Department of defense deliberately overstated the value of the new Russian helicopter “Mi” and distorted information about their flight characteristics,” he said.
Kabulov explained that the program for replacement of the entire Russian aircraft on the us, Washington agreed in June 2017. “Often their preowned cars is inferior to our technical and operational parameters,” the official added.
In November 2017, the defense Ministry of Afghanistan said that no longer needed Russian helicopters because they are now shipped from countries-members of NATO. At the same time, Kabul is still required service existing in operating machinery.
At the time of the national air force of Afghanistan had 11 strike helicopters Mi-35 and 82 multi-purpose Mi-17 helicopters, 30 of which were delivered by Russia under contract with the United States. In the future it is planned to replant the Afghan military on American Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk.
Russia cannot service delivered to Afghanistan technique because of the sanctions imposed by Washington. In addition, in the USA at the legislative level is forbidden military cooperation with Moscow.
