Figure skater Evgeni Plushenko told about the message to the heads of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to allow a Russian Paralympians at the winter Games 2018 in ski racing and biathlon. About this two-time Olympic champion wrote in his Instagram.

“I just texted with my friends, multiple Champions of the Olympic games and world Championships, a letter of pain to the President of the IOC Thomas Bach and the head of the IPC, Andrew Parsons … to allow up to the Paralympic games in South Korea in March 2018 my friend, the hero of our home of the Paralympics, six-time Paralympic champion Roman Petushkov and his colleagues in the national team”, — he wrote.

“I hope and believe that the presidents of the IOC and IPC will find the opportunity and give a chance for our guys to perform at the Paralympic games,” said Plushenko.

On 29 January, the international Paralympic Committee extended the suspension of the Russian Paralympic Committee. While the IPC has allowed Russian athletes to participate in Paralympic games in 2018 as a neutral athletes.

Paralympic games in Pyeongchang will be held from 9 to 18 March.
