Four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov was dissatisfied with the results of Russian biathletes in the sprint race at the Games in Pyeongchang. Him quotes Sportbox.ru.
“The result is deplorable. Blame the fact that we got suspended and we are not the same line-up went, it is not necessary. The Russian team must be as one soldier in the field. One went, one show. Unfortunately, we have not learned the lessons of our previous teams. Continued to successfully ruin the biathlon. The steering wheel should come professionals. We in Korea went anybody, not only professionals,” said 71-year-old.
Earlier, on 10 February only admitted before the games, Russian biathlete Uliana Kaisheva and Tatiana Akimova were not able to take prize-winning places in the sprint. Gold went to Germany’s Laura dahlmeier, silver — Norwegian March, the Schedule, and closed the top three winners, a representative of the Czech Veronika Vitkova.
Among the Russian athletes who are not admitted to the Olympics, were the leaders of the national team of Russia on biathlon — Anton Shipulin and Ekaterina Yurlova-Pecht.
In December, the international Olympic Committee (IOC) disqualified the Russian team from participation in the winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. Athletes not implicated in doping scandal perform at the Games under the Olympic flag.
