Hollywood actor Robert De Niro criticized climate policies of U.S. President Donald trump, complaining that the authorities do not believe in global warming. The artist has performed at the World government summit in the United Arab Emirates, according to Fox News on Monday, February 12.
“I’m talking about our own country, the United States of America. We don’t like to call it retarded, so let’s say that we are suffering a temporary insanity,” said De Niro.
The publication notes that the actor was outraged by the statement of the head of the Agency for environmental protection United States Scott Pruitt, suggested that global warming could benefit mankind.
In December 2017, trump complained about the cold weather on the East coast USA and hoped that “good old global warming” changes the climate for the better.
In August, the United States withdrew from the Paris climate agreement. It was concluded in 2015 and allocated $ 100 billion to developing countries for climate solutions. The agreement replaces the Kyoto Protocol, which was adopted in 1997.
