French biathlete Martin Fourcade after his victory in the pursuit race commented on the absence at the Olympic games in Pyeongchang Russian biathletes. His words leads to “Sport-Express”.

“I find it difficult to understand why no Anton Shipulin. Why the IOC (international Olympic Committee — primas’. «») decided that he is unable to speak? Because he did something bad? Or just because played at the Olympic games in Sochi? But, apparently, not the case because some participants of the Games in Sochi came here,” said Fourcade.

The team expressed surprise by the lack of Russian athletes in Pyeongchang. “If they do without a doubt “clean”, I want to Express regret. This is an abnormal situation. But I think they were not allowed at the Olympics because the management had some information about them. And it is very difficult to accept,” he said.

Earlier on 12 February, Fourcade won gold in the pursuit and became a three-time Olympic champion. Second place went to the Swede Sebastian Samuelsson, the third — Germany’s Benedikt doll.

In January, the IOC has not issued an invitation to the Olympics several Russian athletes, including Shipulin, skier Sergey Ustyugov and short-tremist Viktor Ahn, who never was suspected of violating anti-doping rules.

Games are held in Pyeongchang from 9 to 25 February.
