The former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili compared the process of his arrest by Ukrainian security forces with the actions of the Nazis. He declared it on air of TV channel ZIK.
“The detention was carried out using a very brute force, these people behave like Nazis, he said. — Now I’m in Warsaw, and the Polish side have taken all security measures. I am now under guard in a hotel.”
Speaking about his future, Saakashvili promised to return to Ukraine and “already thinking of how to do it.” However, he noted that “now we have to continue our struggle.”
Earlier on 12 February, called the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko “vile huckster who wants to ruin Ukraine.” He said that masked men had tied him in one of Kiev restaurants, closed his eyes and tied hands. After he was taken to the Borispol airport by helicopter, and then transplanted it into the plane that brought him to the Polish capital.
At the end of 2017, the District administrative court of Kiev ruled that the reasons for the refusal deprived the Ukrainian citizenship Saakashvili there.
