In the future, all cryptocurrencies will necessarily fall under international regulation. This was stated by the managing Director of the International monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde in an interview with CNN Money.
“Of course, this is an area where international regulation is necessary and appropriate supervision,” she said. In transactions with digital currency has a lot of dark moments, therefore, the IMF seeks to prevent their use for money laundering and terrorism financing, said Lagarde.
Regulators should not focus on legal entities and individual cryptocurrency transactions and the persons who carried them, and they have the necessary licenses, says the head of the IMF.
On 7 February, Forbes magazine presented the first rating of the millionaires who have grown rich on cryptocurrency. The top of the list of 19 businessmen took FINTECH entrepreneur and CEO of service Ripple’s Chris Larsen. His fortune is estimated at 7.5-8 billion dollars.
The Russian Ministry of Finance in January published a draft law on the regulation of the cryptocurrency market. On the bill there is a disagreement with the Bank of Russia in the part provided for the possibility of exchange of cryptocurrency in rubles, foreign currency or other property, the Ministry of Finance.
In February 2018, a bill to cryptocurrency should be submitted to the Duma.
