Disclosed new details of the attack on the Russian base in Syria

The attack on the Russian air base in Syria Hamim at night on January 1 was produced with the aid of drones, not mortars. About it reports on Tuesday, February 13, RBC with reference to sources in the defense Ministry and the General staff.

According to them, the attack from 2:00 to 2:20 Moscow time were eight drones. “In the time of the attack UAV system EW [electronic warfare] was not working, so as not to interfere with aviation,” — said one of the interlocutors. He added that the result was a damaged aircraft and helicopters, and also exploded the ammunition. A military expert explained to the publication that the system shut down during departure of the aircraft — a common practice.

Informed source “Tape.ru” also is inclined to the version about the attack on the base with the help of drones.

At the same time, the Russian defense Ministry denied this information. “Not true everything from the date and time of attack to the method of attack and its actual consequences. And about unreliability of this version of events, the RBC had warned us the day before”, — quotes the Minister RIA Novosti.

As indicated in the statement, the author of the material “repeatedly published false information or speculation on the activities of the Ministry of defense of Russia, trying to be credible to attribute their own conclusions separate military experts.”
