Hungary will continue to put pressure on Ukraine in connection with the adopted in this country the law about the Ukrainization of education. This is stated in the statement of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siarto, published on the website of the foreign Ministry.
Szijjártó pointed out that Budapest will continue to use its veto in NATO because it “is the only tool with which it can protect the Transcarpathian Hungarians and to force Ukraine to act in accordance with international standards.”
If Ukraine wants the removal of veto, that Kiev is necessary to suspend the language of the law, the statement said. “Under the agreement with NATO, Ukraine has committed itself to respect the rights of minorities. If Kyiv is serious about establishing closer ties with NATO and the European Union, it should meet their expectations”, — said the head of the Hungarian foreign Ministry.
Ambassador of Ukraine to NATO Vadim pristayko February 9 announced that Budapest has blocked meetings of the Commission Ukraine — NATO. He also added that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will raise the issue of the blockade of Hungary.
