The residents of the Yaroslavl region got incorrect warning about the threat of radioactive contamination, reported “Interfax” in regional Directorate of the emergencies Ministry on Tuesday, February 13.
“About 9 a.m. on the air of the Central TV channels and radio stations operating in the region, came out with recommendations in case of threat of radioactive contamination, — said the Agency interlocutor. — This message is a recording that was aired automatically due to system failure software.”

The MOE received many calls from concerned citizens. People are urged not to panic. The radiation background in the region was quickly measured, according to the Agency, is within the normal range of 0.11 µsv/h. Circumstances of incident are specified.
Earlier in January, the Japanese NHK TV informed viewers about the launch of ballistic missiles from North Korea and the need for emergency evacuation.
