The hackers stole more than a billion Russians rubles

In 2017, the hackers have stolen from Russian banks and approximately 1,156 billion. On Tuesday, February 13, said the Chairman of the Central Bank Dmitry Skobelkin, RIA Novosti reported.

According to him, last year was not less than 21 wave of attacks, carried out by virus, Cobalt Strike. “The attacks were more than 240 credit organizations, successful attacks was 11”, he said.

In December 2017, the newspaper “Kommersant” reported about a group of Russian hackers MoneyTaker, robbing banks around the world. The group works in 2016 and this time managed to make about 20 attacks, yy objects were mainly banks in Russia, USA and UK.

Deputy head of the main Directorate of security and information protection, Bank of Russia Artem Sychev in September last year reported that the Russian banks are exposed to cyber attacks two to three times a week. The most used by scammers virus, he said, was Cobalt Strike.

According to Sychev, the total losses of Russian banks and their clients from cyber-attacks for 2016 amounted to two billion rubles.
